This makes me sad because I really feel like a majority of you people don’t understand that Anduin is arguably one of the best characters in WoW, speaking from a strictly writing standpoint.
As a Horde main I do have to say that you Alliance folks have no idea what you have right now. Anduin since he was a kid had guts and a good head on his shoulders. This boy has only ever strived for peace and diplomacy, and despite all the shit he’s seen: black dragon Onyxia manipluating the throne, taking his father and claiming him prisoner in her cave when he was TEN, fighting off the Twilight’s Hammer when he was 13, watching his father die in his arms and then REZZING HIM (which is a very difficult feat lorewise), surviving shipwreck and being taken prisoner by the Horde and still keeping his faith that the Horde can be good, rushing headfirst at Garrosh fucking Hellscream by himself as a scrawny fifteen year old in an effort to stop him from weaponizing the Sha, having nearly every bone in his body CRUSHED and he SURVIVED, witnessing a war criminal escape as his only friend betrays him, and then watching as the Legion swoops in and fucks up his world and kills his dad and he’s only like what, 17-18 at this point? The kid has seen some SHIT and all that stuff would typically make someone become very pessimistic and nihilistic, giving up on hope. Hell, he could’ve even fallen into the Shadows.
But he hasn’t. He still holds true to those ideals and still believes there is hope and that peace is still a plausible aspiration. And he’s a refreshing hero, seeing as most heroic characters in wow are big warriors or paladins, bulked up in armor and charging into the fray and constantly thinking about war pretty much all the time. Sure, Anduin’s in battle now for BFA bc the situation has gotten horribly out of hand but the fact still remains that Anduin is a priest, and he’s still not meant or built for battle, he’s no warrior, and he can’t wield a sword proper but he still wholly believes in his people and his cause, and fights in his own special way. But because he’s young and softer, everyone wants to just quickly assume that he’s an annoying crybaby or whatever.
But Anduin is what you guys need to be honest. Y’all need a softer leader, someone who’s wiser rather than physically stronger, you need someone who’s empathetic and calm to lead. You guys have the best leader at the helm of your Alliance and it frustrates me to no end that I hear people talk down about him like that and make it seem like “oh man blizzard hates alliance” no, they don’t , they don’t hate you, you guys just don’t see what kind of Great you guys have in your arsenal.
Sure, Alliance gets shit content sometimes as does the Horde but ya gotta realize sometimes that the positives you guys get are pretty freaking outstanding. Please appreciate your king. At least you have him rather than whatever the fuck Sylvanas is becoming.
Besides, do you know anyone else who got punted by Saurfang and lived?
