My Laptop Died

After years of dedicated service, my beloved Alienware 14 Laptop, Bryan, passed away on December 31st at 4:00 am.

This may sound ridiculous, but that computer had a soul to me, and when he finally passed, I felt like I lost an old friend. I actually felt like I was grieving. I think naming him was what made him feel alive to me. He went hard right up until the end. He might not have been top of the line in this time, but he ran high HD games like a beast.

Games like Guild Wars 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, World of Warcraft on Ultra settings.

I’ll never forget us staying up all night, binge playing Dragon Age for days, or the tedious rep grinds on WoW. Staying up until I could barely keep my eyes open doing high end raids in MoP, logging on during expansion launches and exploring together.

Waking up in the wee hours of the night to finish a midterm paper for class. That history report on Woodstock that took like 48 hours of constant work. The night I fell asleep at my desk studying with him.

Bryan was always there for me, and he ran hard right into his death. I love that Laptop, and he’s earned his rest.

R.I.P. Bryan, Alienware 14, 2014-2017

I don’t care what anyone says about Alienware, you were a damn good and loyal computer.
