So I watched the entirety of Neo Yokio and honestly, I enjoyed it. If you sit down to have a laugh at the expense of a bunch of characters that are completely unaware of how ridiculous they are, you’ll have a good time. It’s not a show that’s meant to be taken seriously and I think it’s the people that tried to do so that disliked it so much. Just enjoy Jaden Smith’s animesona trying to hunt demons and be a bourgeois mess.
Or you could enjoy a well animated show that’s actually good, with characters that have heart, done by competent people who love and believe in their project and don’t just see it as a cynical cash grab.

There’s a difference between people of different opinions having a civil discussion and someone jumping into the tag of something they don’t like just to pick a fight.
Yeah, I guess it’s kinda tactless, but it’s still a public forum, tagged or not. If you’re looking for civility on the internet, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment. If OP wanted to discuss the show without any opposition, then I’m sure it has a large enough following that they could find a fansite to post on. If someone had gone on there to spout smack about the show, then it would have been more of a dick move. But here? Kinda to be expected.
I am the OP. The post was meant to be a flippant review of the show for my curious friends. Trust me, after all the backhanded replies I’ve gotten from people who take anime way too seriously, I regret making the post at all. Just because the internet is known for people being jerks without fear of consequence doesn’t mean that others have to add to that.
