An Eastern Bearded Dragon, Pogona barbata, showing us why they have that name! These are a common species of medium sized lizard that are found throughout arid, semi-arid and woodland habitats across the Eastern and South-Eastern parts of Australia.
When threatened they extend their beard which also goes charcoal black designed to intimidate anything that might be trying to eat them. Eastern Beardys can also be easily identified from other species because they have a bright yellow mouth.Another great post from @matt.sleeth
