Niantic has also altered a bunch of things to somehow be worse in the new update including:

•  removal of ALL footsteps instead of fixing the 3 step glitch
•  decrease in spawn rate for all pokemon
•  increase in fleeing rate for all pokemon
•  pokeballs now are altered slightly so throwing niche mechanics must be re-learned and will now sometimes curve without prompting
•  battery saver mode removed because why not lol
•  nice/great/excellent catch bonus exp removed
•  certificate pinning (WHY)
•  scan radius for pokemon reduced by 30% so you see even less at any given time

I honestly can’t believe Niantic is this out of touch with their own app and userbase. RIP PokemonGo

#rip Pokemon Go. The nerfing of moves and complete reordering of pokemon value essentially wasnt on the list but I am done for a while at least until it seems stabilized

Youre all freaking out over things that aren’t that big a deal. The three step has been non existent since week 1, they’ve just removed it temporarily because tracking 40million phones locations compared to pokemon every second is not sustainable for servers.

The decreased radius is a temporary solution so you can actually pinpoint pokemon easier.

Changing the powers of abilities is called balancing and NEEDED to happen.

Battery saver has been removed (for some devices) because it seems like the game now drains less battery normally. Ie what was standard is now closer to saver usage regardless.

Changing the ball system slightly was also necessary. It needed to be more responsive and now it is. As for flee rates it was too easy before, literally 1/10 maybe would run.

Keep in mind NOONE forsaw how big this game was going to get. And considering they’re usually what is essentially new technology that has never been used on this scale before cut them some slack. Imagine how hard it is for them ti update all the locations, pokemon, spawns, players (including walking), gyms and all the rest for tens of millions of countries all over the world. The games still fun. I love it and I love how much it’s encouraging people to get out and walk. It makes excercise fun and that alone makes it an amazing accomplishment.
