being an asshole doesn’t make you cool and tbh i’d like it if we do away with the trope of the “legitimately offensive person is our hero because they’re funny and smart!” because honestly it’s a very clever way to make emotional abusers and bullies feel okay with themselves and this is how we get to a place that trump is a potential world leader like “he’s funny and honest!” has become coded language for “this person is legitimately hurtful” like you know what if i gotta be the nerd everybody beats up for saying it, i will be, because honestly i’m pretty done with putting up with assholes because we hero-worship cruelty.
