Hello everyone. Since I’ve been mostly posting reblogs and dumb stuff I think is funny on this blog, I thought perhaps I should introduce myself in some way. Soooo, here’s 7 random facts about me!
1.) English is technically not my first language, but it is my primary language. What I mean by this is I grew up in an exclusively Spanish-speaking household. My family is from Puerto Rico, and I’m first generation born in the continental United States. Up until I was 4, I couldn’t speak much English and I understood and spoke mostly Spanish. But, at the time I started pre-school, there were no ESOL programs for native Spanish speakers or any educational aid, so my mom began speaking to me exclusively in English to make sure I was just as fluent in it as my English speaking peers so I wouldn’t struggle through my educational life. Nowadays, I’m bilingual. I’m no where near as fluent in Spanish as a primary Spanish speaker, but I do speak and understand it.
2.) I really, really love dogs. Like… really love dogs. Best animals in the world. I just love dogs. always have for as long as I can remember.
3.) I’m half Lebanese. This is on my father’s side. Unfortunately, my father walked out of my life the day I was born and I haven’t seen him since I was about 4 years old. Because of this, I don’t identify with Lebanese or Arabian culture very well, and don’t feel comfortable proclaiming it as my own. But, I have experienced racism for it, and I do fight for Muslim rights primarily because I can identify with their struggles. Still, I feel a little bit cheated out of a beautiful culture that I would have loved to be a part of.
4.) My weapon of choice is a bow. I always main a ranger in video games, I’ve been active in the archery community since I was about 15, and I’m a pretty damn good shot. At the moment, I stopped exercising and joining archery clubs, so I’m back to pulling a miserable 35 pounds (on a compound bow), but I’m trying to get it up to 40, then see if I can get to 50 from there.
5.) I’m a biology lover. I’m chock-full of random biology related facts and I’m not shy about sharing said random facts whether you ask for it or not.
7.) I have a fursona. I’m a bit of a closeted furry, ever since the fandom gained the stigma it has now. No, I don’t own a fursuit, no I don’t sexualize anthropomorphic animals, no I don’t “yiff” or whatever. I just like animals and cartoons. (my fursona is a cross between a wolf and a lunar moth)
